First origins of ProNutro dates back to the early 1930's when a great need for a cereal that could help prevent malnutrition in babies, existed. The introduction of this 'wonder food' was seen as a milestone in the fight against malnutrition.

ProNutro adapted and changed across 4 decades to meet the needs of the times and of generations of people. Today it is as much a part of South African lives as earlier and is the first cereal in the world to be able to offer the health promoting properties it provides. ProNutro's nutritional claims have always been based on a high level of nutritional evidence and research and can rightfully claim to be the most nutritious family cereal in South Africa.

It is the source of 18 vitamins and minerals and is approved as part of the South African Heart Foundation eating plan.
